Last night while catching up with my several online Scrabble
Games and emptying my DVR (Old Good Wife Episodes, Black

started blowing up with texts from a woman I have known albeit
briefly from my past.
Yes, an email / text is nice when you are hearing from an ex-lover
who is checking in to say hello and to try and catch up on life
and its journey. Saying hello and reaching out with a couple
of sentences or maybe a paragraph (or two) usually can get
the job done. Yet this text message broke up into six or seven
and with my Iphone that means it is a real dissertation.
My mind was in a completely different place when the text
originally came in, so only a quick a glance down at the phone
to see who was sending the text was all that was warranted.
You know that quick glance down just to check and see if it
was a looking to me to help solve a problem or get some
additional information, it could have been an emergency
text from a family member or just close friend wanting a
call back. Yet the text tone for my phone kept playing "

The phone truly blew up, so to speak. It was an ongoing monologue

/ Hanukkah / New Years). WTF. Of course, when my eyes started
scanning her writing, it washed over me like a massive TV

was different than mine! It seems the long initial conversation
that we took the time to have; you must know that conversation
about keeping it casual and friendly must have fallen on
deaf ears. Or perhaps that conversation we had did not really
occur and it was a figment of my vivid (yet still grounded
in fact) imagination. This luckily was a nightmare that
would not end with my balls (hopefully) being skewered

it, the decision was made by me to ignore the message last
night and to continue just watch a mindless (and humor filled)
TV show "Portlandia". The great idea to sleep
on the text message, get some rest so that a response would
be the proper one, completely in order and filled with reason
and not a just a reaction to it. You could tell, based on the
tone of her text, she was in that hurricane of thought, we
have all been there, and sadly that place that was moving
her toward a figurative Mt Vesuvius style emotional eruption
if I triggered with an emotional reaction. So sleep it was, after my needed "Portlandia"
and laughter last night / this morning!
First light this morning, she sent an apology text for the
"book" she sent to me last night. Myself, I would
like to call her diatribe it "a failed dissertation".
But nevertheless it has affected my thinking on casual
sexual partners. Even with the conversation, prior to

to make sure the other party is actually hearing your words
